​My wife and I and our 2 boys live in the suburbs of Chicago. As a southern grown boy, I never thought I would end up living in a cold-weather climate. I wanted to go to college in Rhode Island, but once I found out it was cold, I decided to stay close to home. As a matter of fact, quite close, as I grew up in College Station, Texas and we lived literately two blocks from the campus of Texas A&M University where I went to college. I started my career in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry working for Carnival Cruise Lines as well as a four-season resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. After graduate school, I had the opportunity to teach at the university level before spending 15 years working for a municipal government.
